Board Members Wanted


Step Up To The Plate and Join The Board. The LYBS Board is looking for a few new players to add to our roster and bring fun and success to next season. Consider listening in on the next Board meeting to understand the group and goals. We'd love to see fresh ideas and faces!

Open positions include: Field Chair, Volunteer Coordinator Chair, Tournament Chair, and more. Please email LYBS with any specific questions.

Lincoln Youth Baseball and Softball Volunteer Policy


In order to run a successful league and for our players to have the best possible experience, we ask that families volunteer their time to the League. Volunteer positions and opportunities will be both team based and League based as outlined below.

Lincoln Youth Baseball and Softball Team Based Volunteer Positions:

T-ball:

  • One Head coach
  • One Team parent
  • And up to 50% of remaining parents can help as assistant coaches

A, AA, AAA Baseball and Softball:

  • One Head coach
  • One Team parent
  • Two Assistant Coaches

Midget, Junior, Senior Baseball and Major and Junior Softball:

  • One Head coach
  • One Team parent
  • Two Assistant Coaches
  • One Score Keeper
  • One Field prep and maintenance
  • One Lincoln tournament coordinator (fields, concessions, site maintence) (All volunteer coaching positions will be decreased by the number of non-parent coaches (ie, JBO teams with paid coaches))

All Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and team parents need to be registered as volunteers in the Bonzi registration system as part of the volunteer requirement.

League Level Volunteer Positions:

  • Board Member
  • Field Clean Up days
  • Alpenrose Events (Bat and Ball Day, Opening Day, Closing Day)
  • Alpenrose Cup
  • League Nights at Alpenrose (Mainly Tuesdays)
  • League Run Tournaments
  • Special Projects (Building Sheds, Dugouts, Repairing Bleachers, Painting, etc.)
  • Uniform Distribution and Collection
  • Apparel Sales at League Events
